The Art of Farm Life

This exhibit features items representing the artistry of the daily life on the farm.  It includes the art of iron casting, the art of chair making, utensils used in the art of food preparation and preservation, the art created by the potter’s wheel, the art of basket weaving, the art of design in children’s books and toys, and calendars which were often popular art items displayed in the farmhouse.

This exhibit is supported by the North Carolina Arts Council as an agency of the Department of Cultural Resources and the NEH (National Endowment of the Humanities).
